Mark M is right, but I know some students would like to see another way.

So, we can convert each side of the box from feet to yards before we multiply, instead of converting cubic feet to cubic yards at the end.

21ft is 7 yards, 24 ft is 8 yards and 2ft is two-thirds of a yard.

V = (2/3)(7)(8) yd³

Then, as before, multiply your number of cubic yards by the cost of a cubic yard, $12.75

Cost = $12.75*Volume
