Avogadro's gas law basically says that the total number of atoms/molecules/moles of a gas is directly proportional to the volume when the temperature and pressure are constant.
We can write this as n1/V1 = n2/V2 where n1 and n2 are the initial and final moles, respectively and V1 and V2 are the initial and final volumes, respectively.
molar mass Ar = 39.95 g
30 g Ar x 1 mol / 39.95 g = 0.75 mols Ar
0.5 mol / 8 L = 0.75 mol / x L
x = 12 L
