I need to know on how to solve dialation for a geometry problem and I don't know how to do it.

If you have a polygon and you know the coordinates of the vertices, simply multiply each coordinate by the amount of the dilation.
For example, suppose a triangle with vertices (0,0), (4,2), and (1,5) is dilated by a factor of 3. Then the dilated triangle's vertices would be (0,0), (12,6), and (3, 15).
If the original triangle is dilated by a factor of .5, the dilated triangle would have vertices (0,0), (2,1), and (.5,2.5).
