One easy way to identify the limiting reagent is to divide the moles of each reactant by the corresponding coefficient in the balanced equation, and whichever value is less represents the limiting reagent.
3 Fe (s) + 4 H20 (g) -› Fe3O4 (g) + 4 H2 (g)
For Fe we have: 4 moles (÷3->1.2)
For H2O we have: 8 mols (÷4->2)
So in this case, 1.2 is less than 2 so Fe is the limiting reagent.
