Area -f the 10 by 14 inch pan = 140 in^2
a circular pan with same are would mean 140 = pi(r^2)
r^2 = 140/pi = about 140/3.14 = 44.586
r = sqr44.586 = about 6.68
diameter of the circular pan =2r = 13.35 inches
perimeter of the rectangular pan = 2(10+14) = 2(24) = 48 inches
circumference of the circular pan = pid = (3.14)(13.35) = 41.933 inches
circles have greater area for a fixed perimeter or other polygon of the same area.
Maybe that's how pizzas came to be circular, to save money on the pan cost
