Use point-slope form
1) y - 0 = (1/3)(x - 6)
2) y + 2 = (1/3)(x - 6)

1 C(6,0) y=(1/3)x
any parallel line has the same slope = 1/3
y= (1/3)x + b is a parallel line where b does not = 0. To solve for b plug in the point, x =6, y = 0
0 = (1/3)(6) + b
0= 2 + b
b = -2
y = x/3 -2 is the parallel line through point C
2 C(6,-2) y= (-3/2)x + 6
y= (-3/2) + b
-2 = (-3/2)(6) + b
b = -2 +9 = 7
y = -3x/2 +7 is the parallel line though point C
