The Line of Reflection, sometimes called the "mirror line," is the line that goes halfway between each pair of points AA', BB'. CC'. DD', and EE'. When the two figures are pictured on the Cartesian Coordinate System graph, it is easy to see this reflection.
Is the line the perpendicular bisector of the segment AA' ??
Is the line the perpendicular bisector of the segment BB' ??
Is the line the perpendicular bisector of the segment CC' ??
Is the line the perpendicular bisector of the segment DD' ??
Is the line the perpendicular bisector of the segment EE' ??
If the answer is "YES" tp all of these questions, it is the Line of Reflection. Now, determine its equation.
The equation for the x-axis is y=0.
The equation for the y-axis is x=0.
The equation, x=2, is a vertical line at x=2.
The equation y=1 is a horizontal line at y=1.
