Mostly, this has to do with intermolecular forces (IMFs). Read up on them. In brief, the stronger the IMFs, the higher the boiling point. Why? Because it will take more energy (higher temperature) to break apart the molecules being held together by the strong IMFs.
Without getting too complicated, melting point and freezing point are essentially the same thing so you can consider them as one. The stronger the IMFs, the higher the freezing point/melting point. Why? Same reason as for boiling point.
