To find a Z-score, we take the value we want to look at (SAT score of 1240), subtract it from the mean (of 1014) and finally divide that difference by the standard deviation (of 115). Our formula looks like this:
(1240 - 1014) / 115 = 1.965217
So, we have a Z-score of approximately 1.97.
