asked 03/02/22Point C is the midpoint. There exists a point of D that is located on AB and is one-third of the way from C to B
what are the coordinates of D ?

Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
the problem seems to be missing some information,
but a few things could be said about the solution:
if C is the midpoint of AB
then AC = CB
D is 1/3 the way from C to B
DB= 2CD= AB/6
for example,
if point A has coordinates (12,0) and B is (24,0)
then C is (18, 0), 18 = (12+24)/2 = 36/2
and D is (20,0) 20 = 18+(24-18)/3 = 18+6/3= 18+2
or a lttle more generally
if A is (x1, 0), and B is (x2, 0)
then C is ((x1+x2)/2, 0)
and D is ((4x1+3x2)/6, 0)
a formula if y coordinates differ gets more complicated
