A) Cl2O
mass of Cl = 2 x 35.5 g = 71 g
mass of O = 16 g
total mass = 0 + 16 = 87 g
% Cl = 71 g / 87 g (x100%) = 81.6% Cl
B) Cl2O2
mass of Cl = 2 x 35.5 = 71 g
mass of O = 2 x 16 = 32 g
total mass = 71 g + 32 g = 103 g
% Cl = 71 g / 103 g (x100%) = 68.9% Cl
