The slope of the line in the form ax + by = c is -a/b. The slope of the line perpendicular to that line is the negative reciprocal (b/a).
First express the equation in point slope format: y - y1 = m(x - x1), where (x1,y1) is the coordinates of the point the line is passing through and m is the slope from above (b/a).
Use algebra operations to convert point slope format to ax + by = c format.
