There are plenty of great ways to engage audiences when you are doing a speech or presentation. Here are just a few:
- Be sincere. Audiences tend to listen more when they believe the speaker is being genuine.
- Provide value. Make sure that you are providing some valuable takeaways… tips or tricks that will help them in some way.
- Use humor. Everyone loves to laugh. If you can find a way to incorporate humor into your presentation, you are sure to hold the interest of the audience!
- Be energetic. Make sure you are well rested and can bring some energy to the group. If you are tired and low key, your audience will tend to get distracted and lose interest.
- Tell stories. Tell a story and make a point! There is no better way to entertain. Your stories can be simple ones, too. They do not have to be life changing.
