Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
y = x^2 has an x intercept or zero = 0
f(0) = 0
when y=0, x=0
graphically, the equation is an upward opening parabola with vertex = the origin = (0,0) = x intercept = y intercept
It's a zero with multiplicity two
y = x^2 = x(x)
set each factor = 0
x=0, x= 0. the zero repeats, so it has multiplicity two.
