Set up an algebraic equation and solve for X. Then find the indicated angle measures. angle AOB = 4x - 2. angle BOC = 5x - 10. angle COD = 2x + 14.

angle AOD is the biggest angle. It is obtuse but does not equal 180. angles AOB, BOC, and COD are all within AOD. AOD's value is not given.


I do not get how to solve for "X" without having at least one of the angle's values.

Perhaps you aren't using some of the additional information of the figure?

I think maybe you left something out of the question, but: Since they all have "O" as vertex, I added the expressions and solved using a compound inequality... Since you said angle AOD is obtuse, I put the sum between 90 and 180. It gives a reasonable solution (range), but then you did specify equation, so there's that. :o Also, if rotating around the diagram, the points are not in alphabetical order, then all of this goes out the window. :-(
