a) is the correct answer. Good job! You can solve the problem in a number of ways. The easiest is to use a proportion:
0.4/10 = x/5
where x is the distance of the tree from the park bench. Solving for x yields x = 0.2 yards. You can also note that 5 yards is one half of 10 yards, so the tree's distance will be on half of the tree's height.
