Grams of hydrogen and oxygen found in 100 grams of water

Suppose you wanted to make 100 grams of water.

How many grams of hydrogen and oxygen will you need?

Then justify if your answer is reasonable or not?

Thanks for solving it! If I were to ask, how were you able to get 5.56 mols for 100g of H20? I've tried breaking down 100g of H20 and got 5.55 mols (100/18.02g/mol of water) as a result.

Sure. You and I got the same value (5.555555....) and I rounded it up to 5.56 mols. The problem uses 100 g (which is actually only 1 sig. fig.), but I guessed they meant it to be 3 sig. figs. If so, it should have been written as 100. g. Anyway, we got the same answer I believe.
