Assuming log(x) = log10(x)
log(x)+log(x+3) = 1
log(x(x+3)) = 1
Take both sides to power of 10
x2+3x = 101 = 10
x2+3x-10 = 0
(x-2)(x+5) = 0
x = 2,-5
