A student with a mark of 70% on the exam justified it to his parents and told them no one got over 80% on the exam. Should his parent’s believe him? Explain your answer. According to the Empirical Rule, approximately 47.7% of the class made 82% on the exam. Approximately 2% of the class made MORE than 90% on the exam. 80% falls within 1 and 2 standard deviations of the mean. His parents should question the student.
