tan-1x = θ
tan θ = x
1 / tan θ = 1/x
cot θ = 1/x
cot-1(1/x) = θ
tan-1x = cot-1(1/x)
From where did you get the π?
Mark M.
Rightly so, since the tangent and the cotangent involve the sine and cosine both of which change sign in the four quadrants. Secant and cosecant use the same values (and signs) so the use of +π is not necessary.

After some thought, something should be added.
acot x = atan (1÷x) + kπ, where k is any integer. This applies whether x < 0 or x > 0.
