Complementary angles add to 90 degrees
Let x = the small angle
Let 3x+10 = the large angle
Small angle + large angle = 90
x + 3x + 10 = 90 Subtract 10 from both sides and combine like terms
4x = 80 Divide both sides by 4
x=20
3x+10 = 3(20)+10 = 70
The smaller angle is 20 degrees, the larger angle is 70 degrees
