When the concentration of cellular protein increase, this is most likely due to?

This is a very vague and ambiguous question. It could be due to any number of things, not the least of which would be an increase in protein synthesis. However, I'm sure that's not what the questioner is asking, but what is the real question? It is due to increased activity of many enzymes along the pathway. It is due to demand of that protein. It is due to activation of various regulatory processes, etc. , etc. To my way of thinking there really is no good answer to this question as it currently exists.
