So here are all the different types of transformations
- Vertical shift up- add a number to the end of the problem will shift it up that many spaces
- Vertical shift down- subtracting a number to the end of the problem will shift it down that many spaces
- Horizontal shift right- subtracting a number within ( ) will shift the problem right
- Horizontal shift left- adding a number within ( ) will shift the problem left
- Reflection- putting a negative the beginning of the problem will reflect the problem
- Stretch- putting a whole number in front of the problem will stretch it
- Shrink-putting a fraction in front of the problem will shrink it
So to answer your questions we will need to put a 2 in front of the problem to stretch it
y=2(1/x)
We will need to add a negative in front to reflect it
y=-2(1/x)
We will need to put a -3 at the end of the problem to shift it down 3
y=-2(1/x)-3
