In a normally distributed data set, you can find the probability of a particular event as long as you have the mean and standard deviation. calculate the z-score using the formula z = (x – μ )/σ z = (125-150)/20 = - 1.25 P(x>125) = P( z>-1.25) =1-P(z<-1.25) Read the left area from the z and probability table And subtract it from 1 P(z>-1.25)=1-0.10565 =0.89435 or 89.4 %
