Find the coordinate of the midpoint of the segment with the given endpoints. -2 and 9

Please help me, I've been struggling with how to solve this. I looked at the videos that were supposed to help me and they were only giving the definitions of midpoints and Endpoints.

the midpoint is the average of the endpoints. add the endpoints, then divide by 2

(-2 + 9)/2 = 7/2 = 3.5 = midpoint

On this segment, the coordinate of the midpoint is the average of the coordinates of A and B.

M = (A+B)/2

M = (-2+9) / 2

m = 7/2 (or 3.5)
