asked 09/09/21If I am at a B1 level in italian, How can I achieve a B2 by end of february/march 2022?
I am trying to study in Italy next fall and have a pretty good understanding of Italian. I just lack the grammatical part. I definitely need to improve on reading, writing, conjugations, etc. How can I go from the level I am now to a B2? How many hours would I have to put in a week in order to gain a B2 comprehension.

Ciao!
Complimenti on your B1 achievement! Surely no two students are the same, so it would be difficult for anyone to give you an exact answer. In general, I would say your goal is very reachable. Try and incorporate at least 2 hours of explicit study each week. Don't underestimate the importance of exposure. Watch movies in Italian ( You can search Netflix for these titles). Keep the subtitles on IN ITALIAN, so you can have more exposure to the written language. I would also encourage you to add Italian music, news and podcasts to your routine. Listen to Italian radio in the shower, the News in Slow Italian on your way to work, and unwind your day with a nice Italian film.
These may seem like forms of entertainment, but they are helping you create your own immersive bubble. For example, a song's lyrics may sing, "Tira forte il vento", now you know you can use the verb tirare for the wind, and not just soffiare. This is one of an endless number of examples you can find for yourself while you're having fun learning!
In bocca al lupo, e buon studio!

you will need about 2-3 hours a week, maybe 1 with a teacher and 2 on your own. Let me know if you need any help, I teach online with a very effective method. Simona09/16/21
