area of a sector = angle/360 x pi(r^2) or angle/2pi x pi(r^2)
Is 1.4 in degrees or radians? You get different answers
for 1.4 degrees the sector's area = 1.4/360 x pi(3.6) ^2= about 0.158 square miles
if 1.4 is in radians the sector's area = 1.4/2pi x pi(3.6)^2 = 0.7(3.6)^2 = 9.072 square miles
the area of a circle is pi x radius squared. the area of a sector is just a percentage of the area of the circle, either 1.4/360 times the area of the circle or 1.4/2pi times the area of the circle, depending on whether 1.4 is measuring degrees or radians
