hi,
Find ∂z / ∂x and ∂z / ∂y given that : 3xz+ z2y =xy+1
For finding ∂z / ∂x it is enough, you take derivative of terms includes of x and imagine others ( y and z ) are constant numbers that you know derivative of constant number = 0
3xz+ z2y =xy+1 -----> 3xz+ z2y - xy-1 = 0 recognize which terms includes of x!
∂z / ∂x = 3z - y
3xz+ z2y - xy-1 =0 -------> recognize which terms includes of y!
∂z / ∂y = z^2 - x
I hope it is useful,
Minoo
