d = r * t
12 = (b - c)3
12 = (b + c)2
12 = 3b - 3c
12 = 2b + 2c
Can you solve for either b or c and answer?

x mi/h is speed of boat and y mi/h is speed of current.Then: x + y = 12/2 = 6 and x - y = 12/3 = 4.
Then 2x = 10; x = 5 mi/h and y = 6 - 5 = 1 mi/h
