asked 08/21/21an above-ground swimming pool is shaped as shown in this figure; i.e., its length = 80 ft (same at the top and bottom), its width f1 = 40 ft at the bottom and increases to f2 = 52 ft at the top, and its depth d = 8 ft throughout. Note that the front and back surfaces are vertical while the side surfaces are inclined.
The answer is 29440 ft^3 but I keep getting answers like 33,000

top base = 40
height = 8
area of the trapezoid =
1/2 * height * (top+bottom) =
1/2 * 8 * (40+52) =
4 * 92 = 368
the volume is then:
368 * 80 = 29440
