Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
cosx = 1/secx = -1/4
cosx = adjacent side over hypotenuse = a/h =-1/4
h^2 = sum of squares of the adjacent side plus opposite side = a^2 + o^2
o^2 = 4^2 - 1^2 = 15
o = sqr17
sinx = o/h = sqr15/4
cscx = 1/sinx = 4/sqr15
tanx = o/a = sqr15/-1 = -sqr15 = about - 3.87
cotx =a/o =1/tanx = -1/sqr15 = about -0.26
or another way to solve for the trig functions is solve for x. cosx =-1/4, use a calculator with an inverse trig function: x = about 75.5 but you want the 2nd quadrant, so x= 180-75.5 = 114.5
sin114.5 = 0.97
tan114.5 = about -3.87
cot114.5 = -1/3.87 = about -.26
csc114.5 = 1/.97 =about 1.03
the 1st method gives exact solutions though
