Using a table: cμalculate z = (x - μ)/σ You are given average, mu, and standard deviation, sigma. x is the value that you want to know the likelihood that you are over this number.
Look up in a z chart or normal distribution chart what the p is to the left of this value of x. The answer for greater than x will be 1- p.

Using technology, you can usually just give x, mu, and sigma to a normal distribution function and it calculate left or right sided probability.
