I suppose this is like asking "is a pencil bad". A pencil could be used for writing a beautiful symphony or it could be used for poking someone's eye. It's not the pencil that determines if a good or bad action is taken with it.
Voyager 1 and 2 are spacecraft launched in 1977 that not only explored the solar system but now interstellar space. An incredible thing!! And they are powered by nuclear power. Then there is Chernobyl, probably the worst nuclear disaster in history that has caused the death and suffering of thousands.
