The next number in the sequence is 20. You can see that the sequence follows a pattern, starting from 350, of: decrease the number by one, decrease the number by one, halve the number, repeat. So from 350, we subtract one and get 349. We subtract one from that and get 348. When we halve 348 we get 174, and we repeat the process.

To find the next number, we identify that the next step is to halve the number (since when we come to 40 we have subtracted by one two time already). When we halve 40, we get 20.
