direct variation y = kx [ so k = y/x]
inverse variation y = k/x [ so k = xy ]
k is a constant
so use (1, 0.5) and (5, 2.5) and see if y/x is constant or xy is constant. That will tell you the type of variation.
Then find k, giving you the required equation
