Help to Understand Math Better
First you have to find the missing sides of the triangle
You have to apply the Phytagorean Theorem:
a2+b2=c2
b=4
The b is given.
a2+42=c2
You plug in the values.
Remember the phytagorean triplets. Since this triangle is a 30, 60, 90 degrees triangle it has a triplet.
The solutions should turn out to be 3, 4, 5.
ANS: 3,4,5
Now you have to apply these things in the LSA formula for the figure .
LSA= pi*r sqrt(h2+r2)
Plug in the values in the equation (Use 22/7 for pi)
(22/7)(4) sqrt(3)(4)2
The solution should turn out to be rounded to the nearest hundredth which is 348.39.
ANS: LSA= 348.39
Now the second part of the question states to find the total area: (Use 22/7 for pi)
Atot=Alat+(22/7)*(r)2
Now plug in the values
Atot=(348.39)+(22/7)*(4)2
r=4, remember the radius is 4.
The solution turns out to be rounded to the nearest tenth is 17,519.00
ANS: TA= 17,519.00
