Becca and her friends just dined at a restaurant and left a tip of $35.21, which was equal to exactly 20% of the total bill. What was the total bill in dollars?

The instructions says to round the answer to to two decimal places.

Yes of course! So the first step is to find the cost of the food. You do this by using the information you know about the tip. Since tip is calculated using the equation tip = tip%*food_cost, we use the information we have to get 35.21=0.2*food_cost and then we solve for food_cost. We use the result and add the tip to get the total bill. So Total Bill = food_cost + 35.21. Hope this helps!
