q = heat = 1000 J

m = mass = 8.0 g

C = specific heat = ?

∆T = change in temperature = 75º - 25º = 50º

Solving for C, we have...

C = q / m∆T = 1000 J / (8.0 g)(50º)

C = 2.5 J/gº
