The dice question is pretty complicated and I cannot give you the answer.

The outcomes in the dice question are NOT independent

But the probability of 5 or odd IS independent of probability (1 or 2 or odd)

The probability of 5 is 1-(5/6)³

The probability of an odd number is 1-(1/2)³

The probability of a 1 or a 2 is 1-(2/3)³.

With that information you MAY be able to get the answer, but I am not sure.

As long as there must be a five, the event an odd number shows is no longer relevant.

There are only 12 ways of getting a 5 and either a 1 or 2,,,,you can actually list them...but one of the 3 dice must show a five and the other 2 must show a 1 or 2....so 12 ways to get get both..

Probability 12/216=1/18.
