I'm sure the formula for the surface area of a cone is in your math book. No one expects you to derive the formula yourself, so in the future try looking it up; or you can google "surface area of cone'. You'll probably get the answer faster that way because you won't have to wait on a tutor to answer it for you.
When you know the radius of the base (r) and the slant height (s), the formula is:
SA = π·r·s + π·r2
The problem gives you the values of s and r. Plug them into the formula and compute the answer. The units are square inches (in.2)
