First, write the balanced equation for the reaction taking place:
NaOH + HCl ==> NaCl + H2O ... balanced equation
(note the mole ratio of NaOH to HCl is 1:1)
moles HCl present = 50.0 ml x 1 L/1000 ml x 0.254 mols / L = 0.0127 mols HCl
moles NaOH present = 0.0127 mols since the mol ratio of NaOH : HCl is 1:1
Volume of NaOH needed to produce 0.0127 mols NaOH:
(0.432 mols/L) (x L) = 0.0127 mols
x = 0.0294 L
