It is difficult to answer this question, as it asks to choose a scenario without any scenarios given.
Any answer would have to start by defining resource partitioning. When multiple species inhabit the same area, they must utilize different resources in order to reduce competition and contribute to the overall health of the environment.
There are several ways the resources can be partitioned:
- By using different parts of the same area. An example would be different species of lizard using different components of the same tree.
- By using the same area, but at different times. One species may feed in the morning and one in the evening. One may feed in Spring and the other in Autumn.
- By using completely different food sources. One species eats the leaves off trees, and another eats grass nearby.
