LW = 5250

(5+W)W = 5250

W^2 + 5W = 5250

W^2 +5W -5250 = 0 use the quadratic formula or if you can figure out the factors they're (W-70)(W+75) W-70=0, W=70

W =-5/2 + (1/2)sqr(25 + 4(5250))

W =(-5 + 145)/2 = 70 feet wide

L = 70+5 = 75 feet long

WL = 70(75) = 5250 ft^2
