A 30-60-90 triangle has a hypotenuse twice as long as it's shortest side and its side opposite of the 60 degree angle has a length of its shortest side multiplied by the square root of 3.
A 45-45-90 triangle has two sides with a length of the hypotenuse divided by the square root of 2.
Although, the area of a triangle is defined as 1/2bh, you may simply compare the values of the base times height to find which is greater.
The base and height will be the two shorter sides of the triangle, adjacent to the 90 degree angle (so not the hypotenuse).

Draw and label the two triangles!
30-60-90 has legs of 2 and 2√3 - Confirm using Pythagoras
45-45-90 has two legs of 2√2 - Confirm using Pythagoras
Determine the areas of each and answer.

Hey Susan - for context, can you tell me a little bit about what you've been learning in class? Have you been talking about the Pythagorean Theorem? Do you know about SOHCAHTOA? There's multiple ways to go about this question :)04/11/21
