The end of a house consists of a triangle atop a rectangle; the horizontal base of the triangle is the top side of the rectangle. Three lengths are given.

  1. One of the longer, horizontal sides of the rectangle is 34 ft.
  2. One of the shorter, vertical sides of the rectangle is 10 ft.
  3. The vertical distance from the bottom side of the rectangle to the vertex of the triangle opposite the base is 18 ft.

(a) What is the area in square feet of the outside wall?
