Triangle XYZ was dilated by a scale factor of 2 to create triangle ACB and cos ∠X = .
Part A: Use complete sentences to explain the special relationship between the trigonometric ratios of triangles XYZ and ACB. You must show all work and calculations to receive full credit. (5 points)
Part B: Explain how to find the measures of segments AC and AB. You must show all work and calculations to receive full credit. (5 points)

What do we already know:
1) A dilation is a transformation that produces an image that is the same shape as the original, but is a different size.
2) Since the triangle XYZ was dilated (by a factor of 2) to form triangle ABC, so both triangles will be similar and the ratios of their corresponding sides will be equal.
3) Dilations do NOT affect the angle measurements: corresponding angles of the 2 triangles will be the same.
That should give you enough information to explain the relationship between the trig ratios of the 2 triangles, and calculate the lengths of the 2 segments. I strongly suggest you draw/graph a picture of the 2 triangles, to make it more clear how to do that. Hope that's helpful!!
