If there is an EVEN # of statistics, the MEDIAN is defined as the AVERAGE of the

two "middle" statistics...

Otherwise, there is a unique statistic in the "middle" of the data set, that is the median.

10 12 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23

There are 11 stats: 18 is the median; 5 below and 5 above
