HELP PLEASEEEE!! FAst!!!

Karina has recently begun kickboxing and purchased training equipment as modeled in the diagram below. The total weight of the bag, pole, and unfilled base is 270 pounds. The cylindrical base is 15 inches tall with a diameter of 22 inches. The dry sand used to fill the base weighs 95.46 lbs per cubic foot.

a. Find the volume of the cylindrical base.

b. Karina wants to fill the base so that it is 85% full. What is the volume of the base that she is filling? (find 85% of the volume).

c. The dry sand used to fill the base weighs 95.46 lbs per cubic foot. How much will the base weigh after it is filled to 85%?

d. How much does the ENTIRE training equipment weigh after the base is filled to 85% capacity?

For part a, find the formula of a cylinder. Then fill in the specific values for the cylindrical base that you have been given in the problem. You can do this!!!

Agreed! Well said everything falls into place after part a. You can look up the formula for the volume of a cylinder in your text or online.

keep track of your units. when you get to part c, you will have been working with cubic inches, but you will have to modify that or the density of the sand, since the sand density is in lbs. / cubic FOOT.
