How do we find the volume of any container? The area of the base times the height, right?
The area of a circle is πr2. This gives is the volume formula for a cylinder...
V = πr2h
V = π(1.42)6 = 37 in3
A cube measuring 1 inch x 1 inch x 1 inch is 1(1)(1) = 1 in3
I still have, though, 2 extra inches of my glass to fill.
V = π(1.42)8 = 49 in3
49 - 37 = 12 cubes
