The first step is to draw the triangle. If you do, you will see that with ∠N as the right angle, side LM will be the hypotenuse and side NL will be the side adjacent to ∠L.
To find the angle, we use a trigonometric function. In this case, cosine would be used since it is the ratio of adjacent to hypotenuse. Since we want the angle, we simple apply the inverse cosine to the side ratio.
cos-1(6.8/9.4) ≈ 43.7º.
